  • Drive and operate trucks.
  • Follow instructions; locate and read location and road maps.
  • Pre-inspect truck.
  • Pick up goods and materials, verify loads for accuracy, and deliver them as instructed.
  • Load and unload cargo.
  • Complete and verify paperwork for accuracy.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.

Requirements:

  • Be at least 18-years-old for intrastate; 21-years-old interstate.
  • Pass a DOT physical.
  • Pass DOT drug test.
  • Have a good driving record.
  • 2 years experience with cdl

Job Description:

A Dispatcher is a professional who ensures that everything runs smoothly by coordinating with customers, providing precise logistics for drivers to follow along on their routes, and coordinating delivery times. Dispatchers are the point of contact for drivers and have all the information needed to make deliveries.

  • Communication: Truck dispatchers need to be able to communicate clearly and empathetically with drivers, who may not speak to anyone else all day.
  • Time management: Truck dispatchers need to be punctual and manage their time well to help clients get their products on time.
  • Organization Truck: dispatchers need to be organized and detail-oriented, especially when keeping records of deliveries and pickups.
  • Computer Literacy: Truck dispatchers often use mapping and scheduling software to perform their jobs.
  • Knowledge Truck: Dispatchers need to know the trucking company’s policies and procedures, as well as local and regional shipping and driving rules and regulations.
  • Experience: Experience in the transportation and shipping industry can be valuable. Some dispatchers have previous experience as junior dispatchers or truck drivers. Interpersonal abilities Truck dispatchers need to have strong interpersonal abilities.
